Cologne 0 – Hoffenheim 1: From Kraichgau region ease past The Billy Goats at the Rhein Energie Stadion

Cologne were defeated at home by Hoffenheim at the Rhein Energie Stadion on Sunday. Cologne arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 1-1 draw against Greuther Fürth. Hoffenheim were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Stuttgart and Wolfsburg. After today’s result, Cologne and Hoffenheim currently occupy 8th and 4th spots in the league, with 36 points and 43 points respectively after 25 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Hoffenheim continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Stefan Posch finding the net at the 61 minute mark, leaving the final score at 1-0.

There were bookings for Dejan Ljubicic from Cologne, and Christoph Baumgartner, Oliver Baumann, Florian Grillitsch and Munas Dabbur, for Hoffenheim.

Cologne will next play Bayer Leverkusen away, with Hoffenheim facing Bayern Munich at home.
