Cologne 0 – Bayern 4: The Reds travel to The Billy Goats and get the points

Bayern Munich cruise to win vs. FC Köln 4-0 on Saturday at the Rhein Energie Stadion. Cologne had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Hertha away (3-1), the other to Stuttgart at home (1-0). Bayern lost 2-1 in the last match they played against B Mönchengladbach. As the table looks today, Cologne and Bayern currently occupy 8th and 1st spots in the league, with 28 points and 46 points respectively after 19 matches.

The Reds didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with Robert Lewandowski opening the rout, at 9 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Corentin Tolisso made it 2-0 in the 25th minute. The score at half time was 0-2.

Bayern continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Robert Lewandowski finding the net again at the 62 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a hat trick effort from Robert Lewandowski, at 74 minutes to make it 4-0.

For Cologne, Jan Thielmann, Dejan Ljubicic, Kingsley Schindler, Sebastian Andersson and Kingsley Ehizibue, came on for Louis Schaub, Ondrej Duda, Mark Uth, Anthony Modeste and Benno Erik Schmitz. Bayern replaced Jamal Musiala, Marcel Sabitzer, Corentin Tolisso, Marc Roca and Thomas Muller for Leroy Sane, Omar Richards, Nianzou Tanguy Kouassi, Paul Wanner and Malik Tillman.

The referee booked Luca Kilian for Cologne.

Next up, Cologne are away to Bochum, whilst Bayern will travel to face Hertha.
