Frankfurt 2 – Bochum 1: Points secure for The Eagles at the Commerzbank Arena

Eintracht Frankfurt beat Bochum with a thumping 2-1 victory on Sunday at the Commerzbank Arena. Both Frankfurt and Bochum arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Frankfurt were looking to continue their run, following a 4-1 victory against Hertha. Bochum, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Greuther Fürth. As the table looks today, Frankfurt and Bochum currently occupy 9th and 11th spots in the table, with 37 points and 32 points respectively after 26 matches.

Bochum started strongly in the first half, with Sebastian Polter giving Bochum the lead in the 19th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Erhan Masovic equalised for The Eagles just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Frankfurt started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to a goal from Daichi Kamada, 52 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For Frankfurt, Christopher Lenz, Jens Hauge, Goncalo Paciencia and Ajdin Hrustic, came on for Jesper Lindstrom, Filip Kostic, Rafael Borre and Kristijan Jakic. Bochum brought on Milos Pantovic, Christopher Antwi-Adjej, Jurgen Locadia and Eduard Lowen for Patrick Osterhage, Takuma Asano, Gerrit Holtmann and Elvis Rexhbecaj.

There were bookings for Djibril Sow, Rafael Borre and Goncalo Paciencia from Frankfurt. For Bochum, Anthony Losilla, Patrick Osterhage, Herbert Bockhorn and Armel Bella-Kotchap saw yellow.

Frankfurt will next travel to RB Leipzig, while Bochum will face B Mönchengladbach at home.
