Frankfurt 5 – Bayer 2: The Eagles on fire, putting 5 past The Company’s Eleven at home

Eintracht Frankfurt ease to a comfortable 5-2 win at the Commerzbank Arena. Frankfurt were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 3-2 to Hoffenheim whilst Bayer were coming from consecutive wins against Greuther Fürth and RB Leipzig. Following today’s result, Frankfurt are in 9th place, with 21 points from 15 matches, while Bayer sit in 3rd, with 27 points from 15.

Bayer didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, with an early goal from Patrik Schick in the 5th minute. The Company’s Eleven looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a 2nd effort from Patrik Schick after 22 minutes to establish a 2-0. However, Frankfurt weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Tuta, 23 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Jesper Lindstrom in the 30th minute, to take a 2-2 lead into half time.

The Eagles started the second half with renewed vigour, with an early goal from Evan N`Dicka in the 50th minute. Frankfurt looked to have the game under control when they scored again, thanks to a goal from Kristijan Jakic in the 66th minute to establish a 4-2. Frankfurt then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Djibril Sow in the 76th minute to make it 5-2.

For Frankfurt, Jens Hauge, Christopher Lenz, Sebastian Rode, Almamy Toure and Sam Lammers, came on for Jesper Lindstrom, Jens Hauge, Djibril Sow, Danny Da Costa and Daichi Kamada. Bayer brought on Kerem Demirbay, Exequiel Palacios, Karim Bellarabi, Nadiem Amiri and Lucas Alario, to replace Charles Aranguiz, Robert Andrich, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Patrik Schick.

The referee booked three players from Bayer, Jeremie Frimpong, Charles Aranguiz and Piero Hincapie.

Frankfurt will next travel to B Mönchengladbach, while Bayer will face Hoffenheim at home.
