Dortmund 3 – Greuther Fürth 0: No reply as Die Borussen cruise to 3 at the Signal Iduna Park

Borussia Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Greuther Fürth on Wednesday, was hard fought at the Signal Iduna Park. Dortmund were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Bochum in their previous game. Greuther Fürth were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Union Berlin. After today’s result, Dortmund are currently 2nd with 34 points from 16 matches, while Greuther Fürth sit in 18th, with 4 points from 16.

Dortmund started strongly in the first half, with Erling Haaland opening the rout, 33 minutes in, seeing out the first half 1-0.

Dortmund continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Erling Haaland finding the net again at the 82 minute mark. Die Borussen then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Donyell Malen just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.

For Dortmund, Mahmoud Dahoud, Emre Can, Donyell Malen, Steffen Tigges and Reinier, came on for Jude Bellingham, Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus, Erling Haaland and Julian Brandt. Greuther Fürth brought on Havard Nielsen, Julian Green, Branimir Hrgota, Gian-Luca Itter and Dickson Abiama, to replace Cedric Itten, Jeremy Dudziak, Jamie Leweling, Jetro Willems and Timothy Tillmann.

There were bookings for Mats Hummels and Jude Bellingham from Dortmund. For Greuther Fürth, Maximilian Bauer and Jetro Willems saw yellow.

Dortmund will next play Hertha away, with Greuther Fürth facing Augsburg at home.
