Bochum 0 – Augsburg 2: Fuggerstädter travel to Vonovia Ruhrstadion and get victory

Bochum were defeated at home by Augsburg at Vonovia Ruhrstadion on Sunday. Both teams arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Bochum arrived at the game looking pick up points after losing their last game 3-0 to SC Freiburg whilst Augsburg lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Hertha. As it stands, Bochum and Augsburg currently occupy 13th and 14th spots in the table, with 36 points and 35 points respectively after 31 matches.

Augsburg dominated the first half, with a goal from Andre Hahn at the 15 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a penalty goal from Michael Gregoritsch just before half-time to secure a 0-2 win. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

For Bochum, Jurgen Locadia, Danny Blum, Sebastian Polter, Eduard Lowen and Herbert Bockhorn, came on for Patrick Osterhage, Gerrit Holtmann, Simon Zoller, Elvis Rexhbecaj and Danilo Soares. Augsburg replaced Florian Niederlechner, Mads Pedersen, Arne Maier, Raphael Framberger and Felix Ohis Uduokhai with Andre Hahn, Ruben Vargas, Iago, Daniel Caligiuri and Carlos Gruezo.

There were bookings for Cristian Gamboa from Bochum. For Augsburg, Niklas Dorsch, Mads Pedersen and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw saw yellow.

Bochum will next play Borussia Dortmund away, with Augsburg facing FC Köln at home.
