Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win over Wolfsburg on Friday, was hard fought at the Allianz Arena. Bayern were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches against Stuttgart away and Mainz at home, by 5-0 and 2-1 respectively. Wolfsburg were beaten 3-2 in the previous match against FC Köln. Following today’s result, Bayern and Wolfsburg sit 1st, (43 points) and 12th, (20 points), in the league respectively, after 17 matches.

The Reds continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Dayot Upamecano finding the net at the 57 minute mark. The momentum was now with Bayern, who then scored again through a goal from Leroy Sane, 59 minutes in to establish a 3-0. Bayern then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Robert Lewandowski just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.

For Bayern, Marcel Sabitzer, Bouna Sarr, Nianzou Tanguy Kouassi, Omar Richards and Malik Tillman, came on for Marc Roca, Serge Gnabry, Lucas Hernandez, Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard.
