Bayern 1 – Bayer 1: The Reds and The Company’s Eleven play out a draw

On Saturday, Bayern and Bayer were held to a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Arena. Both Bayern and Bayer arrived on the back of wins. Bayern were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches against Eintracht Frankfurt away and Greuther Fürth at home, by 1-0 and 4-1 respectively. Bayer, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Arminia Bielefeld in their last match. As the table looks today, Bayern and Bayer are 1st, (59 points) and 3rd, (45 points), in the league respectively, after 25 matches.
Bayern started strongly in the first half, thanks to Niklas Sule giving The Reds the lead, 18 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Thomas Muller equalised for The Company’s Eleven, 36 minutes in to see out the first half 1-1. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.
For Bayern, Marcel Sabitzer, Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr, came on for Thomas Muller, Omar Richards, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman. Bayer replaced Amine Adli, Mitchel Bakker, Moussa Diaby and Florian Wirtz for Exequiel Palacios, Odilon Kossounou, Sardar Azmoun and Lucas Alario.
There were bookings for Kingsley Coman from Bayern. For Bayer, Mitchel Bakker and Kerem Demirbay saw yellow.
Bayern will next travel to Hoffenheim, while Bayer will face FC Köln at home.
