Bayer 4-0 Schalke: The Company’s Eleven batter the The Royal Blues

Bayer Leverkusen strolled past Schalke with a 4-0 win on Saturday at the Bay Arena. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Bayer were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 4-0 to Bayern Munich. Schalke were beaten 3-2 in their previous match against Augsburg. Bayer are now in 14th place, with 8 points from 9 matches, while Schalke sit in 16th, with 6 points from 9.

The Company’s Eleven started the first half well, when Moussa Diaby opened the rout, 38 minutes in. Bayer then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Jeremie Frimpong just before half-time, concluding the first half 2-0.

Bayer fought back, when Jeremie Frimpong found the net once more, at 53 minutes. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Paulinho just before the full time to make it 4-0.

Substitutions for Bayer included Kerem Demirbay, Amine Adli, Adam Hlozek, Odilon Kossounou and Paulinho for Charles Aranguiz, Moussa Diaby, Patrik Schick, Piero Hincapie and Callum Hudson-Odoi, respectively. Schalke brought on Mehmet-Can Aydin, Thomas Ouwejan, Florent Mollet, Alex Kral and Danny Latza, to replace Sebastian Polter, Tobias Mohr, Dominick Drexler, Florian Flick and Maya Yoshida.

There were bookings for Piero Hincapie from Bayer. For Schalke, Maya Yoshida saw yellow.

Bayer will next travel to Eintracht Frankfurt, while Schalke will face Hoffenheim at home.
