Bayer 0 – Leipzig 1: The Company’s Eleven lose at home to The Red Bulls

RB Leipzig defeat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 on Sunday at the Bay Arena. Bayer wanted to improve their league standing after a scoreless draw against Bochum in their previous match while Leipzig were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund. After today’s result, Bayer are in 4th place, with 52 points from 30 matches, while Leipzig sit in 3rd, with 54 points from 30.
After an un-eventful first half, The Red Bulls continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Dominik Szoboszlai at the 69 minute mark. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 1-0 to Leipzig.
For Bayer, Kerem Demirbay, Paulinho, Lucas Alario and Sardar Azmoun, came on for Jonathan Tah, Exequiel Palacios, Robert Andrich and Piero Hincapie. Leipzig brought on Christopher Nkunku, Konrad Laimer, Dani Olmo, Angelino and Benjamin Henrichs for Andre Silva, Yussuf Poulsen, Emil Forsberg, Marcel Halstenberg and Tyler Adams.
There were bookings for Piero Hincapie and Robert Andrich from Bayer, and Josko Gvardiol, for Leipzig.
