Gladbach 1-3 Frankfurt: Lindstrom inspires the The Eagles to victory

Eintracht Frankfurt defeated B Mönchengladbach 3-1 on Saturday at the Borussia Park. Gladbach were aiming to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Wolfsburg. Frankfurt were looking to extend their winning run after a 5-1 victory against Bayer Leverkusen. Gladbach and Frankfurt sit 9th, (16 points) and 4th, (20 points), in the table respectively, after 11 matches.

The Eagles found the net first, when Jesper Lindstrom found the net early in the first half. The momentum was again with Frankfurt, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Eric Ebimbe on the 29 minute mark to establish a 2-0 result. However they weren’t finished yet and Jesper Lindstrom made it 3-0 just before half-time, concluding the first half 3-0.

Gladbach took the initiative in the second half, when Marcus Thuram found the net on the 72 minute mark, seing the match finish 3-1.

Both managers used all substitutions. Substitutions for Gladbach included Nathan N`Goumou Minpole, Luca Netz and Patrick Herrmann for Lars Stindl, Kouadio Kone and Joe Scally, respectively, Frankfurt brought on Sebastian Rode, Rafael Borre and Faride Alidou, to replace Daichi Kamada, Randal Kolo Muani and Jesper Lindstrom.

There were bookings for Kouadio Kone, Julian Weigl and Christoph Kramer from Gladbach. For Frankfurt, Daichi Kamada and Kristijan Jakic saw yellow.

Gladbach will next travel to Union Berlin, while Frankfurt will face Borussia Dortmund at home.
