Hertha beat Augsburg with a thumping 1-0 victory on Saturday at the WWK Arena. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Augsburg arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Bayern Munich. Hertha, on the other hand, lost 4-1 in the last match they played against Union Berlin. As things stand, Augsburg and Hertha currently occupy 14th and 15th spots in the league, with 32 points and 29 points respectively after 30 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Hertha certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Suat Serdar in the 49th minute. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.

For Augsburg, Ricardo Pepi, Ruben Vargas, Raphael Framberger, Jan Moravek and Andi Zeqiri, came on for Alfred Finnbogason, Mads Pedersen, Robert Gumny, Arne Maier and Reece Oxford. Hertha brought on Niklas Stark, Anton, Maximilian Mittelstadt and Marton Dardai, to replace Kevin-Prince Boateng, Marco Richter, Suat Serdar and Lucas Tousart.

There were bookings for Reece Oxford, Robert Gumny, Raphael Framberger and Jeffrey Gouweleeuw from Augsburg, and Davie Selke, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Dedryck Boyata and Marco Richter, for Hertha.

Augsburg will next play Bochum away, with Hertha facing Stuttgart at home.
