Augsburg 1 – Dortmund 1: Victory beyond reach for Fuggerstädter at the WWK Arena

On Sunday, Augsburg and Dortmund were held to a 1-1 draw at the WWK Arena. Augsburg were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last game 2-1 to SC Freiburg. Dortmund were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against B Mönchengladbach and Union Berlin. After today’s result, Augsburg and Dortmund sit 15th, (23 points) and 2nd, (50 points), in the league respectively, after 24 matches.

Dortmund started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Thorgan Hazard, 35 minutes in to see out the first half 0-1.

Augsburg took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, 78 minutes in. The game ended wih a 1-1 draw.

For Augsburg, Carlos Gruezo, Florian Niederlechner, Noah Joel Sarenren Bazee, Iago and Lasse Gunther, came on for Niklas Dorsch, Ricardo Pepi, Michael Gregoritsch, Mads Pedersen and Ruben Vargas. Dortmund brought on Youssoufa Moukoko, Marius Wolf and Reinier, to replace Donyell Malen, Julian Brandt and Mahmoud Dahoud.

There were bookings for Ruben Vargas and Niklas Dorsch from Augsburg. For Dortmund, Jude Bellingham saw yellow.
