Vélez 4-0 Estudiantes: Bad day for visitors at Jose Amalfitani
Vélez Sarsfield cruises against Estudiantes La Plata on a home win at Jose Amalfitani on Monday. Vélez were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match, while Estudiantes were beaten 3-1 in their previous match against Defensa and Justicia. Vélez continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Abiel Osorio, 72 minutes in. The momentum was again with Vélez, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Francisco Ortega, 78 minutes in to establish a 3-0 result. Vélez then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Abiel Osorio just before the final whistle to give a final score of 4-0.
