Patronato 3-2 Huracán: Visitors picked off in the final minute of five-goal thriller

Patronato defeated Defensa and Justicia 3-2 on Sunday at Estadio Presbitero Bartolome Grella. Both sides arrived fresh from some positive results. Patronato were looking to continue their good run after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Godoy Cruz away (1-0), the other to Lanús away (1-0) whilst Huracán were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against CA Platense and Estudiantes La Plata. Following the final whistle at the end of the last match of the la Superliga Argentina season for both sides, Patronato and Huracán are 10th (40 points) and 4th (47 points) in the final table respectively, after a total of 27 matches.

Patronato dominated the first half, when Walter Gabriel Perez gave them the lead on the 27 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as Nicolas Cordero equalised for Huracán just before half-time, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Patronato rallied after this and were rewarded, when Alexander Sosa found the net in the 60th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Nicolas Cordero in the 69th minute, brought Huracán level. Patronato in turn, then responded just before the final whistle, grabbing the lead with an effort from Emerson Batalla. The match ended with a 3-2 victory for Patronato.

Substitutions for Patronato included Juan Pablo Barinaga, Martin Aruga, Emerson Batalla, Sergio Ojeda and Tomas Caceres for Sebastian Medina, Justo Giani, Tiago Banega, Francisco Alvarez and Matias Pardo, respectively. Huracán brought on Lucas Carrizo, Enzo Luna, Rodrigo Cabral, Maicol Cabrera and Gabriel Gudino, to replace Fernando Tobio, Santiago Hezze, Benjamin Garre, Matias Coccaro and Nicolas Cordero.

There were bookings for Alexander Sosa, Matias Pardo and Jorge Valdez Chamorro from Patronato, and Patricio Pizarro and Federico Fattori, for Huracán.
