Unión 0- 1 Independiente: The Red do enough to secure three points

Independiente beat Unión Santa Fe with a 1-0 victory on Tuesday at Estadio 15 de Abril. Unión were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to CA Platense. Independiente were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against CA Sarmiento and Aldosivi. Unión are now in 16th place, with 26 points from 20 matches, while Independiente sit in 19th, with 24 points from 20.

Independiente started the match strongly, when Lucas Romero found the net just before half-time, ending the first half 1-0. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 1-0.

Substitutions for Unión included Kevin Zenon, Ezequiel Martin Canete, Mariano Peralta Bauer, Junior Marabel and Tomas Gonzalez for Bryan Castrillon, Enzo Roldan, Mauro Luna, Jonathan Alvez and Lucas Angel Esquivel, respectively. Independiente brought on Javier Nicolas Vallejo, Santiago Agustín Ayala Rodríguez and Joaquin Laso, to replace Leandro Fernandez, Tomas Agustin Pozzo and Damian Batallini.

There were bookings for Diego Polenta and Ezequiel Martin Canete from Unión, and Leandro Benegas and Damian Batallini, for Independiente.

Unión will next play Racing Club away, with Independiente facing Newell’s Old Boys at home.
