On Sunday, Argentinos Juniors suffer an away defeat to Sarmiento at Eva Perón de Junín. Sarmiento were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Talleres Córdoba. Argentinos had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Aldosivi. As it stands, both teams are on 3 points and sit in 14th and 10th places respectively after 2 matches.

Sarmiento started strongly in the first half, when López found the net at the 37 minute mark, finishing the first half 1-0. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Sarmiento included Mancilla, Bettini, Brea, Luciano Gondou and Manuel García for Méndez, Rosso, Quiroga, López and Castro, repectively. Argentinos brought on David Zalazar, Coronel, Herrera, Lautaro Ovando and Gomez, to replace Carabajal, Bittolo, Nuss, Matías Galarza and Sanchez.

There were bookings for Castro, Mancilla and Brea from Sarmiento, and Nuss, for Argentinos.

Sarmiento will next travel to Estudiantes La Plata, while Argentinos will face Independiente at home.
