Rosario Central 1-0 Godoy Cruz: Visitors fail to make their mark

On Friday, Godoy Cruz suffer an away defeat to Rosario Central at Estadio Dr. Lisandro de La Torre. Rosario Central were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to CA Huracán. Godoy Cruz had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-0 victory against Racing Club. Following today’s result, Rosario Central and Godoy Cruz are 16th, (4 points) and 18th, (3 points), in the league respectively, after 3 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Rosario Central applied pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Gaspar Servio in the 84th minute. The match ended with a 1-0 win for Rosario Central.

Substitutions for Rosario Central included Facundo Valentin Buonanotte, Fernando Torrent, Mateo Tanlongo and Gino Infantino for Walter Montoya, Damian Martinez, Luciano Ferreyra and Marcelo Benitez, repectively. Godoy Cruz replaced Ezequiel Bullaude, Andres Meli, Elias Lopez and Salomon Rodriguez for Tadeo Allende, Nestor Breitenbruch, Matias Ramirez and Nahuel Brunet.

The referee booked Mateo Tanlongo from Rosario Central. Godoy Cruz had the worst of it though, with Nestor Breitenbruch seeing yellow, and Nestor Breitenbruch (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Rosario Central will next travel to Vélez Sarsfield, while Godoy Cruz will face Defensa and Justicia at home.
