Newell’s 0 – San Lorenzo 0: No goals at Estadio Marcelo Bielsa and points shared

On Friday, Newell’s and San Lorenzo were held to a 0-0 draw at Estadio Marcelo Bielsa. Newell’s were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Banfield. San Lorenzo were unable to beat Independiente in a 1-1 draw. At the moment, Newell’s and San Lorenzo sit 6th, (4 points) and 18th, (2 points), in the league respectively, after 2 matches.

Substitutions for Newell’s included Marcos Portillo, Gustavo Velazquez, Genaro Rossi, Luciano Cingolani and Leonel Vangioni for Pablo Perez, Guillermo Balzi, Juan Manuel Garcia, Ramiro Sordo and Martin Luciano, repectively. San Lorenzo brought on Nahuel Barrios and Nicolas Blandi, to replace Agustin Martegani and Adam Bareiro.

The referee booked Julian Fernandez from Newell’s and Cristian Lema went off with a red card, while San Lorenzo’s Jalil Elias, Federico Gattoni, Gaston Hernandez and Ezequiel Cerutti also received a yellow.

Newell’s will next travel to Talleres Córdoba, while San Lorenzo will face Arsenal de Sarandi at home.
