Newell’s 0 – San Lorenzo 0: Goal-less draw leaves both teams frustrated

On Friday, Newell’s and San Lorenzo were held to a 0-0 draw at Marcelo Alberto Bielsa (Coloso del Parque). Newell’s were looking to continue their run, following a 2-1 victory against Banfield. San Lorenzo, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their matchup with Independiente. After today’s result, Newell’s and San Lorenzo currently occupy 7th and 20th spots in the league, with 4 points and 2 points respectively after 2 matches.

Substitutions for Newell’s included Portillo, Velázquez, Rossi, Cingolani and Vangioni for Pérez, Balzi, García, Ramiro Sordo and Luciano, repectively. San Lorenzo replaced Barrios and Blandi with Martegani and Bareiro.

The referee booked six players. Fernández from Newell’s, who saw yellow cards and Lema, sent off with a red, as well as for San Lorenzo Elías, Gattoni, Hernández and Cerutti received yellows.

Newell’s will next play Talleres Córdoba away, with San Lorenzo facing Arsenal de Sarandi at home.
