Lanús snatched all three points from Colón in a narrow 1-0 victory on Sunday, at Estadio Ciudad de Lanus. Lanús were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last match 2-1 to Atlético Tucumán while Colón had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against River. After today’s result, both teams are on 5 points and occupy 12th and 11th places respectively after 4 matches.

After a goalless first half, Lanús piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Lautaro Acosta gave Lanús the lead just before the final whistle, which sealed the victory for Lanús.

Substitutions for Lanús included Mateo Sanabria, Nicolas Pasquini, Brian Aguilar and Yonathan Cabral for Angel Gonzalez, Lucas Varaldo, Jose Sand and Mateo Sanabria, repectively. Colón brought on Luis Miguel Rodriguez, Rodrigo Aliendro, Eric Meza, Juan Sanchez Mino and Brian Farioli, to replace Augusto Schott, Cristian Bernardi, Santiago Pierotti, Juan Pablo Alvarez and Andrew Teuten.

The referee booked Mateo Sanabria from Lanús and Alexander Bernabei went off with a red card, while Colón’s Joaquin Novillo, Facundo Farias, Augusto Schott and Federico Lertora also received a yellow.

Lanús will next travel to River, while Colón will face CA Huracán at home.
