Independiente 2 – Barracas C. 2: Honours even at Libertadores de America

On Thursday, Independiente and Barracas C. played out a 2-2 draw at Libertadores de America. Independiente were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-1 to CA Tigre. Barracas C., meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Independiente and Barracas C. are 15th, (31 points) and 19th, (30 points), in the league respectively, after 25 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Independiente, when Juan Cazares gave them the lead in the 40th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Juan Manuel Vazquez equalised for Barracas C. just before half-time. The first half ended 1-1.

Barracas C. staged a comeback in the second half, thanks to a goal from Cristian Colman on the 52 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Ivan Marcone equalised for Independiente on the 75 minute mark, seing the match finish 2-2.

Independiente brought on Rodrigo Marquez and Santiago Agustín Ayala Rodríguez for Gabriel Hachen and Tomas Agustin Pozzo. Barracas C. brought on Dylan Emanuel Glaby, Federico Florentin, Neri Bandiera and Facundo Castro, to replace Carlos Alfredo Arce, Maximiliano Puig, Juan Manuel Vazquez and Cristian Colman.

There were bookings for Ivan Marcone, Sergio Barreto, Leandro Benegas and Alex Vigo from Independiente. For Barracas C., Braian Salvareschi saw yellow.

Independiente will play their next fixture at home against Banfield, while Barracas C. will face Arsenal de Sarandi away.
