On Friday, Arsenal de Sarandi suffered an away defeat to Gimnasia La Plata at Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo. Gimnasia were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Newell’s Old Boys in their previous fixture. Arsenal de Sarandi, meanwhile, had secured a point against Vélez Sarsfield in their previous match. Gimnasia and Arsenal de Sarandi currently occupy 1st and 23rd spots in the table, with 36 points and 20 points respectively after 19 matches.

After a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Gimnasia who started the second half strongly, with an early goal from Ramon Sosa in the 48th minute. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Nicolas Colazo in the 54th minute to make it 2-0.

Substitutions for Gimnasia included Nicolas Colazo, Alexis Steimbach, Carlos Insaurralde, Matias Miranda and Matias Bazzi for Matias Melluso, Benjamin Dominguez, Gonzalo Gonzales, Erik Ramirez and Ramon Sosa, respectively. Arsenal de Sarandi brought on Lucas Cano, Lucas Brochero, Leonardo Marchi, Alejo Antilef and Emiliano Viveros, to replace Juan Apaolaza, Braian Rivero, Damian Perez, Dardo Miloc and Facundo Kruspzky.

There were bookings for Ramon Sosa from Gimnasia, and Mauro Pitton, Braian Rivero, Alexander Diaz and Dardo Miloc, for Arsenal de Sarandi.

Gimnasia will next travel to Central Córdoba, while Arsenal de Sarandi will face Aldosivi at home.
