Colón 2 – Unión 2: Brigadier General Estanislao López sees frustrating draw

On Sunday, Colón and Unión were held to a 2-2 draw at Brigadier General Estanislao López. Colón arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Atlético Tucumán in their previous game while Unión lost 2-1 in the last match they played against CA Tigre. After today’s result, Colón and Unión sit 15th, (2 points) and 22nd, (1 point), in the table respectively, after 2 matches.

Unión started the match well, with a goal from Luna, 21 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.

Colón took the initiative in the second half, when Farías found the net, 69 minutes in. The momentum was now with Colón, who then scored again through a goal from Ábila, at 84 minutes to establish a 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Álvez equalised for Unión just before the final whistle. The final result, Colón 2, Unión 2.

Substitutions for Colón included Rodríguez, Sánchez Miño and Acevedo for Teuten, Bernardi and Farías, repectively. Unión replaced Nardoni, Esquivel, Machuca and Gallegos with Luna, Kevin Zenón, Vera and Roldan.

Colón and Unión played a rough game where the referee sanctioned Colón with yellow cards to Ábila and Eric Meza and with red card to Garcés, while from Unión Polenta and Álvez were booked and red to Portillo.

Colón will next play River at home, with Unión facing Barracas Central away.
