Central Córdoba 1-2 CA Tigre: Strong start sees visitors get the win

CA Tigre beated Central Córdoba 2-1 on Wednesday at Estadio Alfredo Terrera. Central Córdoba were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to Arsenal de Sarandi. CA Tigre were coming from consecutive wins against Newell’s Old Boys and Independiente. Central Córdoba and CA Tigre sit 18th, (31 points) and 6th, (43 points), spots respectively, after 26 matches.

After an uneventful first half, CA Tigre certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, when Mateo Retegui found the net, at 51 minutes. CA Tigre looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a second effort from Mateo Retegui on the 64 minute mark to establish a 2-0. Central Córdoba in turn, then responded on the 74 minute mark, grabbing the lead with an effort from Francisco Gonzalez Metilli, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Central Córdoba included Matias Ezequiel Di Benedetto and Hernan Lopez Munoz for Gonzalo Torres and Francisco Gonzalez Metilli, respectively. CA Tigre brought on Cristian Zabala, Pablo Magnin, Ijiel Protti, Ezequiel Forclaz and Agustin Baldi for Facundo Colidio, Blas Armoa, Mateo Retegui, Alexis Castro and Lucas Menossi.

The referee booked Nicolas Linares from Central Córdoba and Fabio Pereyra went off with a red card, while CA Tigre’s Ezequiel Forclaz also received a yellow.

Central Córdoba will next travel to Unión Santa Fe, while CA Tigre will face Arsenal de Sarandi at home.
