CA Tigre banked all three points against the Vélez Sarsfield in a 2-0 victory on Sunday, at Estadio Jose Dellagiovanna. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. CA Tigre were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Godoy Cruz in their previous game while Vélez were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. CA Tigre are now in 12th place on the table and have 27 points while Vélez sit in 26th with 13 points after 20 matches.

CA Tigre started the match strongly, when Blas Armoa gave them the lead early in the first half. CA Tigre then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Facundo Colidio on the 22 minute mark to secure a 2-0 win. The second part ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for CA Tigre included Agustin Baldi, Javier Agustin Obando, Pablo Magnin, Brian Leizza and Martin Galmarini for Alexis Castro, Blas Armoa, Mateo Retegui, Victor Cabrera and Facundo Colidio, respectively. Vélez brought on Agustin Mulet, Santiago Castro, Leonardo Jara, Abiel Osorio and Joaquin Garcia, to replace Santiago Caseres, Jose Florentin, Julian Fernandez, Walter Bou and Tomas Guidara.

The referee booked Alexis Castro, Mateo Retegui and Martin Galmarini from CA Tigre. Vélez had the worst of it though, with Emanuel Insua and Nicolas Garayalde seeing yellow, and Emanuel Insua (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

CA Tigre will next travel to Gimnasia La Plata, while Vélez will face Barracas C. at home.
