Boca 5-3 CA Tigre: Visitors ship five in eight-goal spectacle

On Thursday, CA Tigre suffer an away defeat to Boca at Alberto Jose Armando. Boca were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last match 1-0 to Central Córdoba SDE whilst CA Tigre are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Boca are in 3rd place in the table and have 6 points while CA Tigre sit in 13th with 4 points after 3 matches.

Boca started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Dario Benedetto gave Boca the lead, 11 minutes in. However, their lead was short lived, as Jorge Figal equalised for CA Tigre, 34 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-1.

Boca started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Exequiel Zeballos found the net in the 54th minute. The momentum was now with Boca, who then scored again through a goal from Nicolas Demartini, 57 minutes in to establish a 3-1. However, CA Tigre weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Mateo Retegui in the 66th minute. However, Boca increased their lead 4-2 thanks to a 2nd effort from Exequiel Zeballos, 74 minutes in. Boca looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a second effort from Dario Benedetto, at 77 minutes to establish a 5-2. CA Tigre in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with a 2nd effort from Mateo Retegui. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 5-3 to Boca.

Substitutions for Boca included Oscar Romero, Cristian Medina, Carlos Izquierdoz, Juan Ramirez and Luis Vazquez for Aaron Molinas, Guillermo Fernandez, Marcos Rojo, Exequiel Zeballos and Dario Benedetto, repectively. CA Tigre brought on Diego Alejandro Sosa and Ijiel Protti, to replace Sebastian Prieto and Javier Agustin Obando.

There were bookings for Guillermo Fernandez, Exequiel Zeballos, Marcelo Weigandt and Frank Fabra from Boca, and Diego Alejandro Sosa and Lucas Blondel, for CA Tigre.

Boca will next travel to Barracas Central, while CA Tigre will face Banfield at home.
