Banfield 1-1 Godoy Cruz: Visitors frustrated as winless streak continues

Banfield were helde ach other to a 1-1 draw by Godoy Cruz on Sunday at Florencio Sola. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Banfield were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 3-1 to Defensa and Justicia whilst Godoy Cruz were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Boca. Banfield are now in 22nd place, with 25 points from 22 matches, while Godoy Cruz sit in 9th, with 32 points from 22.

Godoy Cruz dominated the first half, thanks to a goal from Tomas Badaloni just before half-time to take them into the break 1-0 up.

Banfield took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Andres Chavez, 58 minutes in, to level the score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Banfield included Juan Ignacio Rodriguez, Ramiro Enrique, Julian Palacios, Jesus Datolo and Aaron Quiros for Alejandro Cabrera, Agustin Urzi, Mauricio Cuero, Lautaro Rios and Juan Ignacio Rodriguez, respectively. Godoy Cruz brought on Bruno Leyes, Tadeo Allende, Salomon Rodriguez, Valentin Burgoa and Matias Ramirez for Enzo Larrosa, Nelson Acevedo, Tomas Badaloni, Gonzalo Abrego and Martin Ojeda.

There were bookings for Aaron Quiros from Banfield. For Godoy Cruz, Bruno Leyes saw yellow.

Banfield will play their next fixture away against Vélez Sarsfield, while Godoy Cruz will face San Lorenzo at home.
