Atlético Tucumán 1-1 Unión: Hosts safe face with a late equaliser

On Tuesday, Atlético Tucumán and Unión played out a 1-1 draw at Estadio Monumental Jose Fierro. Atlético Tucumán were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Rosario Central in their previous game while Unión were beaten 1-0 in their previous match against Defensa and Justicia. Atlético Tucumán are now in 3rd place on the table and have 46 points while Unión sit in 21st with 31 points after 26 matches.

Following a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Unión who started the second half strongly, with an early goal from Claudio Corvalan in the 48th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Kevin Isa Luna equalised for Atlético Tucumán just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Substitutions for Atlético Tucumán included Cristian Menendez, Eugenio Isnaldo, Ignacio Maestro Puch and Kevin Isa Luna for Augusto Lotti, Joaquin Pereyra, Renzo Ivan Tesuri and Matias Orihuela, respectively. Unión brought on Kevin Zenon, Bryan Castrillon, Matias Gallegos Panozzo and Mauro Luna, to replace Daniel Eduardo Juarez, Imanol Machuca, Junior Marabel and Ezequiel Martin Canete.

There were bookings for Manuel Capasso, Renzo Ivan Tesuri, Guillermo Acosta, Eugenio Isnaldo and Kevin Isa Luna from Atlético Tucumán. For Unión, Juan Nardoni, Claudio Corvalan and Federico Vera saw yellow.

Atlético Tucumán will play away against Defensa and Justicia, while Unión will face Central Córdoba at home.
