Argentinos 2 – Rosario Central 1: Visitors to Diego Armando Maradona leave with nothing

Rosario Central on away loss to Argentinos at Diego Armando Maradona on Friday. Argentinos were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 1-0 to Racing Club in their last match. Rosario Central, meanwhile, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Talleres Córdoba. Argentinos are now in 5th place, with 30 points from 18 matches, while Rosario Central sit in 17th, with 22 points from 18.

Argentinos found the net first, when Kevin Mac Allister gave them the lead in the 34th minute, ending the first half 1-0.

Argentinos staged a comeback in the second half, with a goal from Gaston Veron, 54 minutes in. Rosario Central in turn, then responded in the 68th minute, grabbing the lead with an effort from Kevin Ortiz, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Argentinos included Gaston Veron, Andres Roa, Mariano Bittolo, Jose Maria Herrera and Federico Redondo Solari for Thiago Nuss, Javier Cabrera, Franco Moyano, Gaston Veron and Lucas Villalba, respectively. Rosario Central replaced Alan Marinelli, Francis Mac Allister, Alejo Veliz and Facundo Almada for Gino Infantino, Mateo Tanlongo, Franco Frias and Fabricio Oviedo.

There were bookings for Franco Moyano, Kevin Mac Allister, Gaston Veron and Marco Di Cesare from Argentinos. For Rosario Central, Facundo Valentin Buonanotte saw yellow.

Argentinos will play their next fixture away against Defensa and Justicia, while Rosario Central will face Estudiantes La Plata at home.
