Univ de Chile 1-3 Colo Colo: Visitors pull out the victory with a strong second-half

Colo Colo enjoyed a mesmerising away victory against Univ de Chile at Nacional on Sunday. Univ de Chile were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 1-0 to O’Higgins. Colo Colo were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Huachipato and Audax Italiano. As things stand, Univ de Chile are in 12th place in the table and have 21 points while Colo Colo sit in 1st with 42 points after 20 matches.

Colo Colo started strongly in the first half, when Juan Lucero found the net, at 23 minutes. However, their lead was short lived, as Ronnie Fernandez equalised for Univ de Chile in the 34th minute, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Colo Colo continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Leonardo Gil gave Colo Colo the lead at the 62 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a second effort from Juan Lucero, at 81 minutes with a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for Univ de Chile included Yonathan Andia, Felipe Seymour, Jeisson Vargas, Junior Fernandes and Renato Cordero for Daniel Navarrete, Israel Poblete, Pedro Ojeda, Cristian Palacios and Dario Osorio, repectively. Colo Colo brought on Cristian Zavala, Bruno Gutierrez and Marcos Bolados for Alexander Oroz, Agustin Bouzat and Juan Lucero.

The referee booked seven players. Israel Poblete and Cristian Palacios from Univ de Chile, who saw yellow cards and Bastian Tapia, sent off with a red, as well as for Colo Colo Agustin Bouzat, Maximiliano Falcon, Alexander Oroz and Juan Lucero received yellows.

Univ de Chile will play their next fixture away against Unión Española, while Colo Colo will face Antofagasta at home.
