Univ de Chile 2-3 Audax Italiano: Visitors ecstatic after thrilling win at Nacional

Audax Italiano eased past Univ de Chile in a 3-2 victory on Tuesday at Nacional. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Univ de Chile were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match. Audax Italiano were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Coquimbo Unido in their last match. Univ de Chile are currently 13th with 26 points from 26 matches, while Audax Italiano sit in 6th, with 37 points from 26.

The first half of the match started well for Audax Italiano, when Matias Sepulveda found the net, at 17 minutes. However, their lead was short-lived, as Cristian Palacios equalised for Univ de Chile on the 39 minute mark, which saw the first half end 1-1.

Univ de Chile took the initiative in the second half, when Cristian Palacios found the net once more after 60 minutes. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Osvaldo Bosso managing to equalize, 69 minutes in 2-2. Audax Italiano then netted once more and reestablished their lead thanks to a goal from Jorge Henriquez, 81 minutes in to make it 3-2.

Univ de Chile brought on Junior Fernandes, Felipe Gallegos and Pablo Aranguiz for Cristian Palacios, Lucas Assadi and Pedro Ojeda. Audax Italiano brought on Ignacio Colombini, German Estigarribia and Bryan Figueroa, to replace Luis Riveros, Michael Fuentes and Jorge Henriquez.

There were bookings for Pedro Ojeda, Lucas Assadi, Cristobal Campos, Ronnie Fernandez and Israel Poblete from Univ de Chile, and Fabian Torres, Matias Sepulveda, Carlos Labrin and Tomas Ahumada, for Audax Italiano.

Univ de Chile will next play La Serena away, with Audax Italiano facing Unión La Calera at home.
