Unión La Calera 4-0 U. Católica: Bad day for visitors at Municipal Nicolas Chahuan

Unión La Calera banked all three points against the U. Católica in a 4-0 victory on Monday, at Municipal Nicolas Chahuan. Unión La Calera were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches against Audax Italiano away and Coquimbo Unido at home, by 2-0 and 2-0 respectively. U. Católica were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Unión La Calera are now in 11th place on the table and have 36 points while U. Católica sit in 4th with 41 points after 28 matches.

Unión La Calera didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Lucas Passerini opened the rout in the 29th minute. Unión La Calera looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a goal from Matias Cavalleri, at 38 minutes to establish a 2-0. Unión La Calera then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a second effort from Matias Cavalleri just before half-time, concluding the first half 3-0.

Unión La Calera continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Sebastian Saez on the 72 minute mark, seing the match finish 4-0.

Both teams used all available substitutes. Substitutions for Unión La Calera included Sebastian Pereira, Thomas Rodriguez and Patricio Flores for Simon Ramirez, Matias Cavalleri and Cristian Vilches, respectively, U. Católica brought on Bryan Gonzalez, Yamil Asad and Cesar Pinares, to replace Gonzalo Tapia, Clemente Montes and Juan Leiva.

Unión La Calera will next play La Serena away, with U. Católica facing Audax Italiano at home.
