Unión 0-1 La Serena: Visitors ecstatic after win at Santa Laura

Unión Española fell to a home defeat at the hands of La Serena at Santa Laura on Wednesday. Both teams arrived at the match with previous defeats in the league. Unión were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 4-0 to Colo Colo in their last match. La Serena had lost their previous match against U. Católica. Unión and La Serena currently occupy 6th and 13th spots in the league, with 36 points and 24 points respectively after 25 matches.

La Serena started strongly in the first half, when Santiago Dittborn gave them the lead, 17 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-0 at full time.

Substitutions for Unión included Ignacio Jara, Gabriel Norambuena, Diego Acevedo and Leandro Garate for Benjamin Galdames, Bastian Yanez, Sebastian Leyton and Luis Alberto Pavez, respectively. La Serena replaced Maximiliano Guerrero, Bryan Soto, Richard Paredes and Cristobal Jorquera with Ariel Caceres, Santiago Dittborn, Juan Cavallaro and Luckas Carreno.

There were bookings for Jonathan Villagra and Manuel Fernandez from Unión. For La Serena, Luckas Carreno, Federico Andrada, Bryan Soto and Richard Paredes saw yellow.
