Palestino 2 – Curicó 1: Visitors to Municipal de La Cisterna leave with nothing

Palestino enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Curicó Unido at Municipal de La Cisterna on Saturday. Palestino arrived at the match looking pick up points after losing 1-0 to Colo Colo in their last match. Curicó were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-1 win against Univ de Chile in their last match. As the table looks today, Palestino and Curicó currently occupy 5th and 2nd spots in the table, with 34 points and 39 points respectively after 23 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Palestino, thanks to a goal from Maximiliano Salas in the 11th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

Curicó took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Diego Coelho, 67 minutes in. Palestino managed to edge ahead with a penalty goal from Bryan Carrasco just before the final whistle. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 2-1 to Palestino.

Palestino brought on Franco Pardo, Benjamin Soto and Felipe Chamorro for Agustin Farias, Nicolas Meza and Bryan Carrasco. Curicó brought on Diego Coelho, Felipe Fritz and Mario Sandoval, to replace Bayron Oyarzo, Felipe Ortiz and Yerko Leiva.

There were bookings for Franco Pardo, Maximiliano Salas and Brayan Vejar from Palestino. For Curicó, Bayron Oyarzo, Rodrigo Holgado, Federico Castro and Mario Sandoval saw yellow.

Palestino will play their next fixture away against Ñublense, while Curicó will face Unión La Calera at home.
