Huachipato eased past Palestino in a 2-1 victory on Sunday at Estadio Cap. Huachipato were looking to get back their winning ways after losing 3-2 to Univ de Chile in their last match. Palestino, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-1 win against Cobresal in their last match. Following today’s result, Huachipato and Palestino currently occupy 6th and 9th spots in the league, with 23 points and 20 points respectively after 15 matches.

Huachipato started strongly in the first half, when Luciano Nequecaur found the net, 11 minutes in. However, their lead was short lived, as Mauro Diaz equalised for Palestino, 32 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-1.

Huachipato continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Luciano Nequecaur found the net again, 58 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Huachipato included Cris Martinez, Juan Cordova, Carlos Lobos, Juan Sanchez and Nicolas Baeza for Javier Altamirano, Joaquin Gutierrez, Maxi Rodriguez, Luciano Nequecaur and Walter Mazzantti, repectively. Palestino brought on Felipe Chamorro, Franco Pardo, Rodrigo Gomez and Carlos Villanueva, to replace Nicolas Meza, Benjamin Rojas, Misael Davila and Mauro Diaz.

The referee booked Walter Mazzantti and Javier Altamirano from Huachipato. Palestino had the worst of it though, with Ariel Martinez and Rodrigo Gomez seeing yellow, and Vicente Fernandez Godoy then sent off with a red.

Huachipato next face Curicó Unido and Palestino are at home to Unión Española.
