Everton Viña del Mar beat Unión Española with a thumping 2-1 victory on Sunday at Sausalito. Everton wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Coquimbo Unido in their previous game whilst Unión lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Palestino. As the table looks today, Everton are in 8th place in the table and have 22 points while Unión sit in 5th with 29 points after 18 matches.

Everton found the net first, with an early goal from Bryan Carvallo in the 3rd minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Matias Campos made it 2-0 at the 18 minute mark, which saw the first half end 2-0.

Unión took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Leandro Garate just before the final whistle, sealing a 2-1 victory for the away side.

Substitutions for Everton included Felipe Campos, Cesar Valenzuela and Lautaro Pastran for Cristopher Medina, Bryan Carvallo and Matias Campos, repectively. Unión brought on Sebastian Leyton, Ignacio Ibanez, Sebastian Jaime and Benjamin Galdames, to replace Mario Larenas, Bastian Yanez, Octavio Rivero and Thomas Galdames.

The referee booked Sebastian Sosa from Everton. Unión had the worst of it though, with Thomas Galdames, Luis Antonio Pavez and Sebastian Jaime seeing yellow, and Luis Antonio Pavez (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Everton next face Unión La Calera and Unión are at home to Curicó Unido.
