Everton 1-1 U. Católica: Visitors find a late equaliser at Sausalito

On Sunday, Everton and U. Católica were held to a 1-1 draw at Sausalito. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Everton were looking to continue their run, following a 4-0 victory against Curicó Unido. U. Católica, on the other hand, were coming from a 1-0 win against Cobresal. As the table looks today, Everton are in 7th place, with 29 points from 21 matches, while U. Católica sit in 10th, with 26 points from 21.

After an uneventful first half, Everton fought back the second half, when Matias Campos gave Everton the lead in the 75th minute. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Gary Kagelmacher equalised for U. Católica at the 84 minute mark. The match ended wih a 1-1 draw.

Substitutions for Everton included Felipe Campos and Rodrigo Diaz for Bryan Carvallo and Matias Campos, repectively. U. Católica brought on Diego Ossa, Aaron Astudillo and Jose Pedro Fuenzalida, to replace Cesar Pinares, Bryan Gonzalez and Alfonso Parot.

The referee booked Gonzalo Tapia for U. Católica and Alvaro Madrid saw the red card, for Everton.

Everton will next play Audax Italiano away, with U. Católica facing O’Higgins at home.
