Curicó 2 – Unión La Calera 0: Visitors to Estadio La Granja leave with nothing

Curicó enjoyed a home victory against Unión La Calera at Estadio La Granja on Friday. Curicó were looking forward to playing again after losing 2-1 to Palestino in their previous fixture. Unión La Calera, meanwhile, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Colo Colo. Curicó are now in 2nd place on the table and have 42 points while Unión La Calera sit in 12th with 26 points after 24 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for Curicó, when Federico Castro gave them the lead just before half-time

Curicó once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Agustin Nadruz found the net just before the full time, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Curicó included Joaquin Gonzalez, Diego Coelho, Felipe Fritz and Mario Sandoval for Felipe Ortiz, Rodrigo Holgado, Federico Castro and Bayron Oyarzo, respectively. Unión La Calera brought on Lucas Passerini, Mathias Vidangossy and Thomas Rodriguez for Simon Ramirez, Gonzalo Castellani and Nicolas Orellana.

There were bookings for Rodrigo Holgado from Curicó. For Unión La Calera, Nicolas Orellana, Simon Ramirez, Henry Sanhueza and Lucas Passerini saw yellow.

Unión La Calera and Curicó will next play away to O’Higgins and Antofagasta respectively.
