Coquimbo 0 – Colo Colo 2: Visitors ecstatic after win at Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso

Coquimbo were defeated at home by Colo Colo at Francisco Sánchez Rumoroso on Sunday. Coquimbo were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning last match whilst Colo Colo had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Curicó Unido. Coquimbo are now in 16th place on the table and have 23 points while Colo Colo sit in 1st with 56 points after 28 matches.

Colo Colo started strongly in the first half, when Juan Lucero gave them the lead after only 6 minutes to see out the first half 1-0.

Colo Colo continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Agustin Bouzat in the 64th minute, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

Substitutions for Coquimbo included Nicolas Gauna, Diego Ortiz, Dilan Zuniga, Cristopher Barrera and Cristian Aravena for Luis Cabrera, Jhon Bravo, Nicolas Berardo, Jorge Gatica and Ignacio Jeraldino, respectively. Colo Colo brought on Marcos Bolados, Agustin Bouzat, Cristian Zavala, Cesar Fuentes and Matias Zaldivia, to replace Gabriel Costa, Marco Rojas, Leonardo Gil, Vicente Pizarro and Maximiliano Falcon.

There were bookings for Luis Cabrera and Gerardo Gordillo from Coquimbo, and Gabriel Costa, for Colo Colo.

Coquimbo will next travel to Unión Española, while Colo Colo will face O’Higgins at home.
