Cobresal 2-1 Antofagasta: Visitors narrowly come up short as Cobresal make it back-to-back wins

Antofagasta on away loss to Cobresal at El Cobre, El Salvador on Monday. Cobresal were looking to continue their run after winning last match. Antofagasta, on the other hand, lost 1-0 in the last match they played against U. Católica. As the table looks today, Cobresal are currently 4th with 27 points from 16 matches, while Antofagasta sit in 16th, with 11 points from 16.

Cobresal found the net first, when Gaston Lezcano found the net, 39 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Manuel Lopez equalised for Antofagasta just before halftime, finishing the first half 1-1.

Cobresal rallied after this and were rewarded, when Cecilio Waterman gave Cobresal the lead just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Cobresal included Cesar Munder, Cristopher Mesias, Pablo Cardenas and Ivan Villalba for Juan Gaete, Mauro Gonzalez, Nelson Sepulveda and Gaston Lezcano, repectively. Antofagasta brought on Paulo Magalhaes, Adrian Cuadra, Nicolas Penailillo, Gary Tello and Andres Souper for Cristian Diaz, Matias Fredes, Marco Collao, Brayan Hurtado and Camilo Rodriguez.

There were bookings for Mauro Gonzalez, Cecilio Waterman and Jorge Deschamps from Cobresal, and Cristian Diaz and Brayan Hurtado, for Antofagasta.

Cobresal will next travel to Curicó Unido, while Antofagasta will face Univ de Chile at home.
