Troyes 1-1 Rennes: All even at Stade de l’Aube in mid-table clash

On Sunday, Troyes and Rennes played out a 1-1 draw at Stade de l’Aube. Both sides arrived fresh from some positive results. Troyes were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the AS Mónaco away (4-2), the other to Angers SCO at home (3-1). Rennes, meanwhile, were coming off the back of a 3-1 win against Brest. Troyes and Rennes are 12th, (6 points) and 9th, (7 points), in the league respectively, after 6 matches.

Troyes found the net first, when Ike Ugbo gave them the lead in the 14th minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Rennes started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Baptiste Santamaria in the 48th minute, seing the match finish 1-1.

Substitutions for Troyes included Adil Rami, Pape Ndiaga Yade, Xavier Chavalerin, Renaud Ripart and Wilson Odobert for Ike Ugbo, Rony Lopes, Yasser Larouci, Thierno Balde and Mama Balde, respectively. Rennes brought on Desire Doue, Kamal-Deen Sulemana, Matthis Abline, Birger Meling and Lorenz Assignon, to replace Lovro Majer, Flavien Tait, Amine Gouiri, Adrien Truffert and Benjamin Bourigeaud.

The referee booked Xavier Chavalerin and Gauthier Gallon from Troyes and Yoann Salmier went off with a red card, while Rennes’ Baptiste Santamaria and Birger Meling also received a yellow.

Troyes will play their next fixture away against RC Lens, while Rennes will face Auxerre at home.
