Rennes 2-1 Tolouse: Home fans rewarded with victory at Roazhon Park

Rennes enjoyed a home victory against Tolouse FC at Roazhon Park on Saturday. Rennes were aiming to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Lille. Tolouse were beaten 2-0 in their previous match against AS Mónaco. Rennes are now in 3rd place on the table and have 31 points while Tolouse sit in 12th with 16 points after 15 matches.

The Rennais started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Benjamin Bourigeaud, 25 minutes in, ending the first half 1-0.

Tolouse started the second half with renewed vigour, when Thijs Dallinga found the net in the 55th minute. Rennes in turn, then responded in the 58th minute, grabbing the lead with an effort from Arnaud Kalimuendo. When the final whistle blew, the result was 2-1 to Rennes.

Substitutions for Rennes included Xeka, Flavien Tait and Jeremy Doku for Lovro Majer, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Lesley Ugochukwu, respectively. Tolouse brought on Moussa Diarra, Brecht Dejaegere, Ado Onaiwu and Veljko Birmancevic, to replace Kevin Keben Biakolo, Zakaria Aboukhlal, Rafael Ratao and Thijs Dallinga.

Tolouse and Rennes will next play away to Olympique de Marseille and Reims respectively.
