Troyes 2-2 Reims: Reims pick up a point in exciting draw

On Sunday, Troyes and Reims played out a 2-2 draw at Stade de l’Aube. Troyes were looking to continue their good run, following a 3-1 victory against Clermont Foot, while Reims had lost their previous match against AS Mónaco. Troyes and Reims sit 11th, (11 points) and 17th, (7 points), in the league respectively, after 9 matches.

The Red and Whites started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Folarin Balogun, 13 minutes in, saw out the first half 1-0.

Troyes started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Wilson Odobert in the 51st minute. However, each side looked hungry to win and Reims then found the back of the net, 54 minutes in thanks to Junya Ito, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Jackson Porozo equalised for Troyes just before the final whistle, seing the match finish 2-2.

Substitutions for Troyes included Wilson Odobert, Ike Ugbo and Andreas Bruus for Lucien Agoume, Yoann Salmier and Thierno Balde, respectively. Reims brought on Martin Adeline, Noah Jean Holm, Ibrahim Diakite and Kamory Doumbia, to replace Folarin Balogun, Alexis Flips, Mitchell Van Bergen and Azor Matusiwa.

The referee booked Yoann Salmier, Gauthier Gallon, Andreas Bruus and Erik Palmer-Brown from Troyes. Reims had the worst of it though, with Ibrahim Diakite and Emmanuel Agbadou seeing yellow, and Junya Ito then sent off with a red.

Troyes will next travel to Nice, while Reims will face Paris Saint-Germain at home.
