Troyes 3-1 Angers: ESTAC too strong for Angers at at Stade de l’Aube

Troyes strolled past Angers SCO with a 3-1 win on Sunday at Stade de l’Aube. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Troyes were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last match 4-1 to Lyon. Angers had lost their previous match against Brest. After today’s result, Troyes are currently 15th with 3 points from 4 matches, while Angers sit in 17th, with 2 points from 4.

Troyes started strongly in the first half, when Renaud Ripart found the net, 12 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-0.

Troyes continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Mama Balde, at 61 minutes. However, Angers weren’t lying down and managed to pull back a goal from Lois Diony, 68 minutes in. In the end though, Troyes in the 82nd minute increased their advantage with a Wilson Odobert goal. The match ended with a 3-1 win for Troyes.

Substitutions for Troyes included Wilson Odobert, Mama Balde, Pape Ndiaga Yade, Tristan Dingome and Xavier Chavalerin for Rony Lopes, Ike Ugbo, Renaud Ripart, Yasser Larouci and Florian Tardieu, repectively. Angers brought on Ilyes Chetti, Abdoulaye Bamba, Waniss Taibi, Amine Salama and Abdallah Sima, to replace Miha Blazic, Souleyman Doumbia, Pierrick Capelle, Sofiane Boufal and Sada Thioub.

The referee booked Yoann Salmier and Adil Rami from Troyes. Angers had the worst of it though, with Batista Mendy and Waniss Taibi seeing yellow, and Batista Mendy (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Troyes will next travel to AS Mónaco, while Angers will face Reims at home.
