ASSE 1 – Troyes 1: Victory elusive at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard for both sides

ASSE were held to 1-1 draw by Troyes down on Friday at the Stade Geoffroy Guichard. ASSE arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Lille in their previous game while Troyes were coming from consecutive wins against Nantes and Bordeaux. As it stands, ASSE are in 18th place, with 27 points from 29 matches, while Troyes sit in 15th, with 29 points from 29.

Troyes started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Lebo Mothiba in the 18th minute to see out the first half 0-1.

ASSE took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Ryad Boudebouz, 67 minutes in and seeing the game end 1-1.

For ASSE, Harold Moukoudi, Arnaud Nordin, Adil Aouchiche and Aimen Moueffek, came on for Falaye Sacko, Sada Thioub, Wahbi Khazri and Mickael Nade. Troyes brought on Yoann Touzghar, Yasser Larouci, Tristan Dingome and Adil Rami for Lebo Mothiba, Abdu Conte, Ike Ugbo and Oualid El Hajjam.

There were bookings for Eliaquim Mangala and Wahbi Khazri from ASSE, and Erik Palmer-Brown and Xavier Chavalerin, for Troyes.

Troyes and ASSE will next play at home to Reims and Olympique de Marseille respectively.
