Rennes 3-0 Nantes: The Yellow House blown away at Roazhon Park

Rennes beat Nantes with a 3-0 victory on Sunday at Roazhon Park. Rennes were looking to pick up points, following a 3-1 victory against RC Strasburg. Nantes were beaten 4-1 in their previous match against AS Mónaco. Rennes are now in 6th place on the table and have 18 points while Nantes sit in 19th with 7 points after 10 matches.

Rennes didn’t take long to get on the score-sheet, when Amine Gouiri opened the rout in the 26th minute to see them go in at half time 1-0 up.

The Rennais continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Martin Terrier, 80 minutes in. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a goal from Desire Doue, 84 minutes in to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Rennes included Lesley Ugochukwu, Lovro Majer, Desire Doue, Matthis Abline and Kamal-Deen Sulemana for Xeka, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Benjamin Bourigeaud, Amine Gouiri and Martin Terrier, respectively. Nantes brought on Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Sebastien Corchia and Evann Guessand, to replace Samuel Moutoussamy, Dennis Appiah and Moussa Sissoko.

The referee booked Hamari Traore and Joe Rodon saw the red card, for Rennes.

Nantes and Rennes will next play at home to Brest and Lyon respectively.
