On Sunday, Nantes suffered an away defeat to Reims at the Stade Auguste Delaune. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Reims were looking for a victory following a 0-0 draw with Brest in their previous game. Nantes, meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Reims are now in 11th place on the table and have 16 points while Nantes sit in 16th with 12 points after 14 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Reims piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Folarin Balogun found the net, 82 minutes in. When the final whistle blew, the result was 1-0 to Reims.

Substitutions for Reims included Marshall Munetsi, Mitchell Van Bergen, Dion Lopy and Noah Jean Holm for Jens-Lys Cajuste, Arber Zeneli, Folarin Balogun and Kamory Doumbia, respectively. Nantes brought on Ignatius Kpene Ganago, Samuel Moutoussamy, Dennis Appiah, Sebastien Corchia and Evann Guessand, to replace Mostafa Mohamed, Fabien Centtonze, Ludovic Blas, Quentin Merlin and Moussa Sissoko.

The referee booked Jens-Lys Cajuste and Noah Jean Holm from Reims. Nantes had the worst of it though, with Nicolas Pallois, Ludovic Blas and Samuel Moutoussamy seeing yellow, and Nicolas Pallois (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Reims will next play Montpellier away, with Nantes facing AC Ajaccio at home.
