Reims 2 – Lille 1: Les Dogues unable to avoid defeat at the Stade Auguste Delaune

Reims eased past Lille in a 2-1 victory on Wednesday at the Stade Auguste Delaune. Reims wanted to continue adding points after a scoreless draw against Montpellier in their previous match. Lille were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against RC Lens. As the table looks today, Reims are in 12th place on the table and has 40 points while Lille sit in 9th with 48 points after 33 matches.
The Red and Whites started strongly in the first half, thanks to a goal from Marshall Munetsi in the 32nd minute, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.
Les Dogues took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Renato Sanches, 57 minutes in. Reims in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Yunis Abdelhamid and seeing the game end 2-1.
For Reims, Thomas Foket, Dion Lopy, Nathanael Mbuku, Bradley Locko and El Bilal Toure, came on for Maxime Busi, Jens-Lys Cajuste, Ilan Kebbal, Marshall Munetsi and Arber Zeneli. Lille brought on Jonathan David, Isaac Lihadji and Gabriel Gudmundsson, to replace Angel Gomes, Edon Zhegrova and Amadou Mvom Onana.
There were bookings for Dion Lopy from Reims. For Lille, Zeki Celik saw yellow.
Reims next face Olympique de Marseille and Lille are at home to RC Strasburg.
