Reims enjoyed a home victory against Auxerre at the Stade Auguste Delaune on Sunday. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. Reims arrived with the intention of improving their league position following a disappointing 0-0 draw with FC Lorient in their previous game. Auxerre had secured a point against Nice in their previous match. Reims and Auxerre sit 14th, (12 points) and 18th, (9 points), spots respectively, after 12 matches.

Reims started strong and were rewarded, when Folarin Balogun found the net in the 28th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Mbaye Niang equalised for Auxerre on the 33 minute mark, concluding the first half 1-1.

The Red and Whites rallied after this and were rewarded, when Junya Ito found the net just before the final whistle. The match ended with a 2-1 home victory.

Substitutions for Reims included Martin Adeline, Nathanael Mbuku, Mitchell Van Bergen and Noah Jean Holm for Dion Lopy, Arber Zeneli, Kamory Doumbia and Folarin Balogun, respectively. Auxerre brought on Gaetan Perrin, Gauthier Hein, Gaetan Charbonnier and Remy Dugimont, to replace Nuno Da Costa, Hamza Sakhi, Mbaye Niang and Lassine Sinayoko.

The referee booked Bradley Locko, Azor Matusiwa, Cheick Keita and Yehvann Diouf for Reims.

Reims will next travel to Brest, while Auxerre will face AC Ajaccio at home.
